Senate President, David Mark, will today lead an 80-man team of Nigerian golfers to Ghana for an international golf match with their Ghanaian counterparts.
The international match play between Otukpo Golf and Country Club and Tema Golf Club of Ghana will tee- off today and ends on Sunday.
In 2010, Achimota Golf and Country Club of Ghana hosted their Otukpo counterparts to an international match play, which the hosts triumphed at the tournament.
Speaking yesterday, Mark said that Otukpo golfers have grown and matured to play international competition, saying that the Nigerian golfers are prepared to surprise fans in Accra, Ghana.
“Our golfers, mostly young men and women are prepared for this match. I am convinced that with the level of their preparations, they would bring the trophy to Nigeria”, Senator Mark stated.
Senator Mark hoped that with the crop of young Nigerian golfers, the country would make appreciable impact in the game in the forthcoming Olympics.
