Oche Attempts Treble in E’ Guinea

Nigeria’s current number one player, Oche Odoh will be hoping to defend the 3E Championship he won last year as the 2016 edition tees-off at the Presidential Golf Course in Mongomo from December 8-10.

Odoh has had a fantastic year at home with cumulative six wins out of ten events, but his appearance at international meets has not in any way matched that, except for flashes of brilliance which included a sixth place finish at finals of the Vodacom Origin of Golf in South Africa.

At the Mongomo field, he is the player with the highest number of wins, and he would be hoping to end the year on a high with another victory that will bring his tally to three for an event that is at his fourth edition.

He told pganigeria.com earlier in December that his main focus is to get better footing at international events and hopes to better his World Golf Ranking which is still at 1181.

“I need to work more to raise my World Ranking that is my focus now. I don’t have anything to prove back home again.” He said.

Although the 3E event don’t have a World Ranking point tied to it yet, players that feature at the event have swelled to 67 with 14 female professionals chasing the $150, 000 purse.

Though the sponsoring company 3E Actuaries is owned by Olawale Opayinka, he says would like the event to grow into a multi-racial event and perhaps the biggest in Africa.
