The professional Golfers association of Nigeria has announced the beginning of sale of forms for interested amateur players who wish to join the Association.
Director of the PGA, Samson Lawal, said it behooves on the association to consider absorbing some of the brilliant top amateur players; who so wish to their rank, albeit, they will have to pass the qualifying school test.
“I turned professional over 40years ago and since then the process has become more competitive and being tweaked to only admits the very best. Our last three series to say the least have been very tough where only the best players scale.
“The effect of this has been a very vibrant younger generation of players that we believe will blossom soonest and uplift the game and bring honour to the association” he added.
The finals test for admission into the association would be conducted in January 2018 at a yet to be named golf course. Hence the twelve months space from this year would be for mentoring and training in various skills that is required of a professional golfer.

Lawal added that. “Although the main test for admission is scheduled for 2018, all participants would be hosted and tested in a seminar to assess their level of preparedness for the one week Qualifying School test in 2017.”
