Tiger Club Boosting Tourism

Tiger Golf Club Ibadan has embarked on infrastructural development that will attract tourism for the club as well as encourage human capacity empowerment for members.

Dr. John Dongo, Captain of the club, recently in Lagos revealed to Independent that some facilities have been put in place and upgraded to actualise the onerous task of putting the club on the tourism map.

Dr. Dongo going down memory lane said, “Tiger Golf Club came into being about 2001 as a six-hole golf course; by 2008/2009 as a nine-hole golf course and shortly after that as a straight 18-hole.”

The development the Captain said has put the club at an advantage of hosting any event: “This improvement means that there has been a tremendous development in terms of basic infrastructure on and outside the course.

“And of course you know golf and tourism go together, hence at Tiger Golf Club, we have about 26-room guest chalet and we can boast of hosting any event and we want people to take advantage of it,” he said.

The Captain concluded that the club would continue to expand its frontier by fratanising with other clubs in order to exchange ideas for the development of the game.
