International Women’s Golf Day Celebration Holds June 6

Nigeria for the first time will be participating in the International Women’s Golf Day (IWGD) celebration in partnership with the World Golf Foundation and International Golf Federation come June 6, 2017.

In this regard, the Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) will collaborate with the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) to celebrate the event in four locations in the country.

The open event will hold at the IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja for North; Port Harcourt Golf Club for South South; Ibori Golf and Country Club, Asaba for South East and Ibadan Golf Club for South West.
NGF/LGAN statement revealed that events will hold simultaneously world over for four hours; two hours of playing golf and two hours of socializing.

Thus, giving the international time variation, the Nigerian tee off time according to the statement would be 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

“Women’s Golf Day (Open Day) is a Four-hour event where Women and girls can experience golf for the first time, and where current and former golfers can play and engage with others interested in golf,” it said.
The event which is said would be taking place in over 600 locations in the world will also include men participating inclusiveness, just as men are also invited to participate.

“Men can participate too. The event is about inclusiveness in over 600 locations around the World. So, we will reach out to organisations, businesses, health clubs, and schools in the immediate communities and invite them.”
Other international golf associations participating in the celebration include LPGA, LET, NGCOA, EGCOA, PGA, PGA TOUR, and European Tour Properties among others.
