AKPODIETE, KORBLAH, ODEGHA CHASE RADIX PENSIONS CLASSIC TITLE

Names on the lips of golf fans to clinch the inaugural Radix Pensions Masters Classic include Friday Okpodiete, Emos Korblah and Sunday Odegha going by their day one performance in that order

While Akpodiete a top PGAN player ended day one on 68, Korblah who has won lots of PGA tours and Odegha, Kwara @50 Open champions tied on 70 and it is certain the final day could spring some surprises.

The pro-am which teed off on Wednesday will wind down Friday (today) April 20 after days of intense swinging and putting by over 100 professionals and amateurs.

The competition holding at the Ikoyi Club 1938, Golf Section, Lagos has a purse of N5 million for the professionals with the amateurs certain to go with prizes.

The professionals along side category-one golfers playing 54 holes, while ladies and handicap-six golfers and above are part of the event.

Also expected to be on the course for the three days tournament are veterans and invited guests drawn from across the country.

Kunle Adeboye, the Managing Director of the outfit said that the Radix Pension management plan to drive the business using golf: “It will be a win-win situation for golf and golfers and the business as well.”

While highlighting the benefits of partnering Radix business ideas, he informed that the Classics would be an annual tournament.

Captain, Brig-Gen. Musbau Amolegbe (Rtd), Captain of Ikoyi Club impressed by the development assured the club’s readiness to support Radix management initiatives.

Jide Bolaji, Secretary General of the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria (PGAN) said, “PGA of Nigeria is very happy to see private sectors now keying into golf development in Nigeria.

“We (PGAN) commend the efforts of Radix Pensions.”
